Fusses former editor and now a Vice-President of the London library and a successful writer, commented with humor and comes to the conclusion that no matter how you care about the decor or menu events invited still, first and foremost, will be to discuss with someone who planted nearby.

Alexander also answered the guests ‘ questions about professional niceties: “Came into Vogue in 1992, I started thinking about what would be the journal. And I realized that I want to make it interesting for people outside of the fashion industry. I wanted to write not only about what a girl would wear and what shoes are in fashion. It is important for me to talk about politics and social issues. My favorite article in our magazine, for example, was devoted to the dry cleaners. And shortly before my departure we made material on women engineers who build the most modern railway in England. I never doubted that such topics should be in Vogue”.

Answering the question about what was the most difficult in her 25-year career, Alexander said: “The best part was both the most difficult. I worked with talented, bright people – the best photographers, stylists and editors from all over the world. Such people always defend their position, and the most difficult was to find a compromise and try not to offend anyone. Just imagine: Mario Testino makes shooting and some photos are not suitable. Of course, all team members will be upset if you tell them about it – but it is impossible to lead people and to avoid such situations. Sometimes you have to criticize even the most talented. And it was a little difficult”.
