Founded in 1921, the Vidal jewelry store in Béziers is now reinventing itself in a new setting

After six weeks of work carried out at the beginning of the summer, the Vidal jewelry store, an institution since 1921, officially opened its new store on Friday, September 13. A modernization that allows the brand to reaffirm its position as a specialist in 750 thousandths gold. And to look to the future, as the 5th generation of jewelers takes over.

The jewelry store, located on rue du 4-Septembre in Béziers, underwent a complete renovation from the beginning of June to mid-July – a schedule carefully chosen to not miss the summer season, which represents a volume of activity similar to that of the Christmas period. Dominique Vidal, the manager, explains the challenges of this renovation: “The initial objective was to bring the store up to date.
The architecture and layout have been completely redesigned to allow us to improve our visibility and develop our offering." And the result is a success: better distinction between the different departments – precious jewelry, watches and fine costume jewelry –, space saving thanks to the window now positioned at street level and revised lighting that highlights the jewelry store's offering.

A legacy that continues

After the jewelry store was founded in 1921, the fourth and fifth generations of the Vidal family are now perpetuating the family passion for precious jewelry. The arrival of Henri, Dominique's son, at the jewelry store in the summer of 2023 marks a new turning point in its history. After having learned the ropes in various companies following his studies, Henri brings his fresh perspective. “These experiences have allowed me to acquire skills, particularly in strategy and communication, that I now apply here. I am proud to contribute to the transformation of the store while respecting our family values”, he confides. The renovation reflects this dynamic: a more modern, more airy boutique, which retains the elegance and high quality that characterize the century-old house. “We feel that consumers are increasingly turning to safe values ​​to mark special occasions such as engagements, weddings or birthdays. And our 750 thousandths (or 18 carat) gold jewelry is precisely the symbol of quality and durability par excellence.”

“Watchmaking prestige”

After the inauguration, where around forty people were present, including Robert Ménard, the mayor of Béziers, the Vidal jewelry store is looking to the future with new projects. Father and son announce their intention to strengthen their watch department with new luxury watch brands in order to meet growing demand. “Our image as a gold specialist also encourages our customers to come and find watchmaking prestige with us”, explains Henri. At the same time, online sales are also being studied, a necessary adaptation to take advantage of the scale of the digital market.
