|Franck Loyat dirige un festival reconnu et bien ancré sur Lodève. ML – Alain Mendez
The 10th edition of the festival dedicated to live performance will always combine diversity and intensity, from July 18 to 21, in the streets of Lodève.
Franck Loyat, what will this 10th edition look like ?
It will inevitably resemble the previous ones, a festival which has gained momentum since its creation, if we except the two years adapted to the health context. With, as always, new shows, a diversity of offerings, highlighting discovery and artistic creation which is our DNA, around family programming, with offerings focused on young audiences. ;nbsp;and Adults. Resurgence has found its place in the regional cultural landscape. We are recognized by the cultural community and the public, with a good third of the 18,000 festival-goers coming from beyond Hérault.
It was what you hoped for when it was created?
Yes. We have the cultural season with its local offering and this highlight in July which aims to shine on a regional scale. It is achieved thanks to a format that corresponds to our means, to Lodévois Larzac, to this small Mediterranean city of Lodève. With 25 companies, around forty shows and an Off proposal which is structured around guinguettes and the park stage supported by associations, cultural places which offer their entertainment, this event retains a real human, friendly dimension. In addition, there are participatory projects with the high school, the media library or the Social Center, and around thirty volunteers who join our teams. In any case, we like this local anchoring, the evolution and the scope of a festival on a human scale, quite simply.
It starts this Thursday, July 18

What is the recipe for success ?
The diversity and intensity of the proposals during four days in the city. There is theater, dance, circus, music, with their variations. For example, we have choreographic circus with Ino, more burlesque and juggling with the Cie Butler, circus theater with Nous la forêt… This is also true for street theater with different tones to amaze us, to question us about social facts, like Le fag or Carne on the struggles for homosexual rights or our relationship to meat. Next door, Helmut Von Karglass will be in the burlesque and entertaining tradition of street theater. The atmospheres vary with dance performances and strolls with the Usse Inné company as a common thread, which will present three shows. Finally, there will be many festive moments, notably during the concerts, on the Market Square and in the Park.
How are you going to celebrate this birthday?
Kevin Thompson who works in Lodève, will hold a screen printing workshop where everyone can come and personalize a t-shirt or an object to flock in the colors of the festival. Above all, we will celebrate this anniversary with the public who trust us and come in large numbers every year.
