French Prime Minister Jean Castex was declared positive Monday evening for COVID-19 and “his agenda will be adjusted in the coming days so that he continues his activities while being in isolation” during ten days, his services told AFP. & nbsp;
The head of government learned Monday afternoon that one of his 11-year-old daughters had tested positive . “He therefore immediately performed a PCR test, which turned out to be positive,” explained Matignon.
Mr. Castex had traveled to Brussels on Monday morning, where he had met his Belgian counterpart, Alexander De Croo.
The head of government, 56, who received two doses of the vaccine in the spring, did not have hitherto never been declared positive, but had been in contact with Covid-19 on three occasions.
Before him, President Emmanuel Macron had been declared positive in December 2020. Several ministers also contracted the virus , like the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire, of Culture Roselyne Bachelot.
