Le jeune Gardois joue actuellement dans le grand spectacle de l'été des arènes de Nîmes, La légende des jardins. Et ne compte pas s'arrêter en si bon chemin…

Baptiste Subey is a young man from Jonquiere. He will be 13 years old and is in 4th grade at Elsa-Triolet middle school. A very good student, his favorite subject is physical education and sports, he practices rowing as an extracurricular activity. During lunch time, he participates in the middle school choir.

On stage from the age of 6

However, it is for the theater that he devotes a real passion and the theater has returned it to him so far. The adventure began when he was 6 years old. With an interest in artistic activities and after a year of practicing circus arts, he turned to theater. There he found the opportunity to develop his true desire to express himself on stage.

So, at the start of the school year he will begin his 8th year of theater at the Quai des arts in Beaucaire, where every year, under the direction of Florence Kleinbort, he plays two shows in January and June. In 2020, his profile matching the criteria, Baptiste participated in a casting for the cinema. After the various selection stages, Baptiste was chosen to be the character of Jean-Baptiste Rambla, a child in the docu-fiction Dolorès, la malédiction du pull-over rouge  which is still broadcast on Canal+. The filming took place over 4 days in Marseille and with his parents, Baptiste attended the preview screening.

Jules, dans la Légende des Jardins

This strong experience allowed Baptiste to discover another approach to stage performance. In addition, with great maturity, the young actor takes a very thoughtful look at the story of the character he played “who could have had a completely different life if he had not experienced this trauma in his childhood”. Baptiste was also reinforced in his desire to continue his path as an actor but the family rules are uncompromising and Baptiste understands them perfectly: “Schooling must come first, with a healthy mind in a healthy body”.

Thus artistic projects must not be an obstacle to Baptiste's academic career and they are accepted during the holidays, which is the case this year, since Baptiste is currently playing the role of Jules in The Legend of the Gardens at the Nîmes arenas. Obviously, Baptiste, despite the stage fright of the first night, is delighted with this new experience that he is enjoying before having to get ready to return to school soon.
