While waiting for the future convention center to open at the end of 2025, life in this new central district of the city is getting organized.

"By laying this foundation stone today, we officially begin the countdown to the inauguration of this convention center." Behind the Musée de la Romanité, near the Porte de France, a new district will soon rise. With, as a central point, the new convention center which should open its doors by the end of 2025. 

A "new project" more in line with customers" 

Right opposite, the decor has finished being installed, the fitness room is operational: the new Appart'hôtel Nîmes arenas has just opened its doors. The culmination of a file initiated a few years ago. Arriving at the end of the lease on its site very close to Cheval Blanc, which closed its doors last March, the Odalys group has therefore chosen to initiate a reflection on the future: "We wanted to work on a new project, with a new product, more recent and more in line with customer expectations. This new site and its perspectives were an alignment of the planets, admits James Galland.

A choice "not entirely innocent"

Who concedes that "the choice of rue Alexandre-Ducros is not entirely innocent". The director of Odalys city activities specifies that with "the arrival of the Palais des Congrès, we We want to offer accommodation to business providers. Reacting to the desire to set up a 4-star hotel, James Galland explains that he knows "that'there is an expectation and an appetite for 4 stars in Nîmes, whether for "city break" during the week or on business trips.

Palais des congrès: this project costs €56.3 million

Launched in December 2019, this major project of this fourth mandate of Jean-Paul Fournier should therefore be inaugurated. end of 2025. Beyondà of the 10,000 m2 building with its 700-seat auditorium, the redevelopment of an entire neighborhood is coming. With a large part of pedestrianization, a square between the future building and the Porte de France, the expansion of the garden of the Musée de la Romanité … Or 56.3 million euros planned, including a share of 30.7 million for the City, supplemented by 10 million euros. from Nîmes Métropole, 9 M€ from the Region and 6.5 M€ from the Department.

With 78 studios and 5 2-room apartments, this new Aparthotel provides 176 beds. At its head and with a team of around fifteen people, Magali Magnan, a woman of experience if there ever was one, since she had already been running the company for 17 years. ;#39;establishment Odalys du Cheval Blanc.
