Europe says yes to the definitive uprooting of vines
#VITICULTURE. This Friday, October 4, the European Commission gave France the green light to implement the permanent uprooting of vines. It was requested by the profession to respond to the most critical difficulties encountered by a certain number of wine-growing operations. Received by the Minister of Agriculture Annie Genevard after taking office, the professionals had recalled the need to supplement the permanent uprooting with a temporary uprooting system “making it possible to offer future prospects to the territories, winegrowers and the sector.”An approach that the minister has indicated she wants to support. From mid-October, winegrowers should be able to submit their aid applications to benefit from this system with a total budget of 120 million euros. "This mechanism will provide immediate support in the face of the market crisis that the sector is going through by contributing to the rebalancing of production volumes in relation to demand", commented Annie Genevard.
Today's figure: 125
#NÎMES. Former offices transformed into futuristic housing! This is the project for this set of 125 apartments, work on which began this Friday, October 4, and which should be delivered during the summer of 2025. A concrete response to the lack of housing in Nîmes, where the number of students has increased from 5,000 to 15,000 in the space of ten years. The residence will meet all environmental standards and will house a gym, a cafeteria and coworking spaces. And even a mural!
Popular tribute
#HÉRAULT. A huge crowd accompanied Pierre Dudieuzère to his final resting place on Friday, October 4. The former mayor of Vendargues, in Hérault, who suffered a serious stroke and died on Monday, September 30, was 77 years old. More than thirty years at the head of the city have forged the attachment of the population and the very present local political figures who came to pay tribute to him. Guy Lauret, who succeeded him in 2020, paid tribute to his friend of forty years, "forty years of closeness, complicity, discussions, memories that collide in my memory, he stressed, Pierre was a visionary elected official. He traced the path of our town with his convictions, his determination."
