Game of Thrones-season 8 : questions that we asked before the episode 4

The end is approaching. This night, OCS released simultaneously with the United States, the episode 4 of season 8 of Game of Thrones. After the Battle of Winterfell, the time was the grouping side of Jon Snow and Daenerys before the big confrontation with Cersei. And of course, it happened. Here are 8 questions that we posed in front of the new novel. Warning, this article contains spoilers, don’t go any further if you haven’t seen the episode or if you do not want to know.

More than two episodes and this will be the end… The last week, it was the hour of the confrontation between the King of the Night and Winterfell, the battle finally won, thanks to Arya (Maisie Williams). After the battle and the dead, things progress in the North and not that…

1. Daenerys is the biggest manipulative of Winterfell ?

In this new episode of season 8 of Game of Thrones, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) has again shown its power of manipulation. Now, she knows that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is the one who should reign in his stead, and she, of course, do not digest too much of the stuff. But above all, it proves to be even more manipulative to avoid at any price that Jon will come to power : it gives Storm”s End to Gendry (Joe Dempsie) and make him an ally, but above all, she tries it the sentimental approach toward Jon to convince him not to reveal the truth to anyone. Damage to it, it only works half…

2. Arya will she be entitled to his happy ending ?

Arya is the heroine of the day at Winterfell after killing the King of the Night (at the same time, it is normal that it should be honored anyway) ! But we wonder if the youngest Stark will have his happy ending. It is not very much advantage in any case because instead of accepting the marriage proposal of Gendry, she prefers to leave Winterfell in the company… of the Bloodhound (Rory McCann). Direction to King’s Landing to kill Cersei ? It is hoped (and provided she doesn’t die trying to do so).

3. A-t-we say goodbye to Tormund and Sam ?

Va-t-on review Tormund (Christopher Hivju) and Sam (John Bradley) in the last two episodes ? It seems in any case that their goodbyes with Jon could mark the last appearance of the two characters. The broken heart will be pricked to Brienne by Jamie (you are talking about below), the wildling announced wanting to return to the North with his own and Jon entrusted him Ghost (yes, he is alive and well !!). As for Sam and Gilly (Hannah Murray), they announced Jon to wait for a baby before letting him go to King’s Landing.

4. Jon Snow va-t-he duty to interpose itself between Sansa and Daenerys ?

Despite the battle won, tensions have not eased between Daenerys and Sansa (Sophie Turner), who still does not accept his authority, and is a little jealous of his relationship with his brother. And it is not on the point of arrange, as Arya and Sansa have learned the true identity of Jon. If Jon and Daenerys survive both the battle against Cersei, the ex-King of the North will he have to come between her “sweetheart” and her sister ? And most importantly, will he sacrifice, without wanting to separate ?

5. But why is the scene between Jamie and Brienne has it been cut ?

Surprise, Surprise ! After the first time to Arya in episode 2, it was the turn of Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) taste the joys of pleasure with… Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) ! Yes, they did ! It’s not as if we expected a reconciliation between them since season 2… But then WHY HBO does it cut the scene after just a few kisses ? You don’t ask a porn but a good one would have liked to see a bit more especially considering what happens after…

6. Tyrion and Varys will they betray Daenerys ?

Things are going fast in Westeros, and an ally can become enemy without having the time to say “Dracarys”. It smells like something is burning for Daenerys since Varys (Conleth Hill) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) were plotting behind his back : the first think that Jon Snow is the one who should reign while the second is not sure… but is not totally against. In short, it seems that they are both a hair away from treason. We hope for them that Dany is not going to realize it.

7. Jamie will kill Cersei ?

It all comes back to Jamie and to his final decision : to leave Winterfell. Beyond her farewell heartrending with Brienne (yes, it was maybe a little crying we don’t judge), his final speech gave us an idea : what if he went to King’s Landing to kill his sister/ex-mistress ? Not totally impossible since, even if they were saying to be a bad guy in his speech of farewell to Brienne, he gave us the sense that he especially hopes to change that and fix our mistakes by getting rid once and for all from Cersei, and not metaphorically speaking.

8. Who is ready for the battle ?

In the last scene, after the fleet of Daenerys has been decimated (and Rhaeghal killed, RIP) by Euron (Pilou Asbaek), the armies of Dany did in front of Cersei (Lena Headey). Even if Tyrion was trying to convince his sister to drop the weapon by taking it by the feelings, nothing made there : Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) were killed by the Mountain (thank you for that decapitation morning) under the eyes of Dany and Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson). Who is ready for the fight of the century next week (but it has a small fear when even) ?

Game of Thrones season 8 : who is ready for the battle ?

And also…

Here is the bulk of the other issues that we are placed by the head :

If Lyanna and Edd were walkers white at the end of episode 3, their body would not have had to disappear ? / That whispered Daenerys to Jorah ? / Who did the clean up after the battle ? / Tormund is the best character ever ? (Yes he is) / The death of Rhaegal was still a little silly, isn’t it ? Cersei will get more time next week ? / Who will survive the battle ? Answer next week !

The season 8 of Game of Thrones continues every Monday simultaneously with the United States on the OCS.
