Game of Thrones-season 8 : questions that we asked before the episode 5

The battle long awaited has taken place ! In the night from Sunday to Monday, the OCS was concurrent with the United States episode 5 of season 8 of Game of Thrones. After the Battle of Winterfell against the Walkers in White and the King of the Night, Daenerys, Jon Snow and their army were finally face to Cersei. And one is asked questions in front of this new – and last – episode of the series. Warning, this article contains spoilers, don’t go any further if you haven’t seen it and if you do not want to know.

Dracarys, “said Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) before you cut the head in episode 4 of season 8 of Game of Thrones. Then, the army of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) did she really set fire to King’s Landing ? But above all that announces this episode to the end of the broadcast series next week ? Here are the 7 questions that we asked.

1. It is when that fight ?

By posing in front of this new episode of Game of Thrones, we said : “Finally, it’s going into a fight“. When in fact… no ! Finally, not to the beginning in any case. It took 18 minutes before the action moves to King’s Landing, and 31 minutes for the serious things begin. But in the end, this battle has kept its promises with action scenes and impressive in the full light of day ! It may be a little too much violence early in the morning, but hey, if it allows us to avoid the spoilers…

2. Jaime and Cersei are they really dead ?

After having left Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) to Winterfell, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) was back home to King’s Landing. Like us, you thought it was going to kill his sister ? NOT AT ALL. In the end, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) was released in an attempt to save Cersei (Lena Headey). Except that the two characters were stuck in the basement of King’s Landing and seemed to be dying buried. We use the conditional because you never know, anything is possible in Game of Thrones… Dead ? Not dead ? Ok, ok, it is lucid and one leans rather to the first option even if it hurts in the heart saw the stupidity of this death (yes, we would have preferred that Arya we redo the shot of the King of the Night).

3. Jon Snow will FINALLY turn against Daenerys ?

Daenerys has lost the head… While the armies of Cersei made, and that the bells of the city rang, the Mother of Dragons, still mad with rage, has still decided to attack… and not the soldiers. A mindless act that seemed to offend deeply Jon Snow, all the same forced to take up arms to defend themselves. It seemed to be previously determined to let Dany sitting on the Iron Throne but will he change ? It seems more than probable that the King of the North to regain its rights according to this act. Attention, however, Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) who could see that he doubted the orders of Khaleesi.

4. It was not a little bit short, the Clegane Bowl ?

You’ve waited for it for years, the Clegane Bowl took place well !! For those who would not have followed at all, it is the long-awaited fight between Sandor Clegane (The Bloodhound) and Gregor Clegane (The Mountain). This episode 5 was the opportunity to discover the clash long-awaited of the two brothers… but far too short for our liking. Ok, ok, it was quite exhilarating but we would have liked that this fight is even more highlighted. We still were able to see two things : 1) The Mountain is ugly under his helmet 2) He has no other moves than the kick of the eyes sunken in the skull.

5. Varys has he had time to send his letters, and to whom ?

At the beginning of the episode before flaming, Varys (Conleth Hill) wrote one or even several letters revealing the true identity of Jon Snow. But he had time to send before his death sentence ? This does not seem completely impossible given the presence of a little girl. If he had time to send the letters, which he addressed to them ?

6. Tyrion is condemned ?

Tyrion has tried to appease the things in spite of the threat of Daenerys. But the Hand of the Queen she was much too far ? Releasing his brother and giving him a way to save Cersei, Tyrion is self-condemned to death ? We can reassure ourselves by saying that no one is aware of his act but there are still soldiers who have seen enter the tent. You shake already for him !

7. Arya will she ascend to the Throne ?

And if Arya (Maisie William ) had the soul of a leader ? In the middle of the battle to King’s Landing, it may not be able to kill Cersei but she still showed how she was strong and could inspire others to be their best, even if it didn’t end very well. And if it was ultimately she who sat on the Iron Throne ? We don’t say no !
