Gard maintained on orange alert for rain-flooding, storms and floods: update on road conditions and weather forecasts

The Gard is maintained on orange alert this Thursday, October 17, in the morning, for rain-flooding, storms and floods for several waterways (Ardèche before, upstream, Cèze upstream, Gardons d’Alès and d’Anduze). The Vidourle, the Vistre, Cèze aval, Gardon aval, the Rhône from Pont Saint-Esprit to Avignon, and from Avignon to the sea, are on yellow alert.

The Gard departmental council gave an update this Thursday morning on the state of the roads and the closed submersible bridges.

The update on the closed roads and bridges

These are: the RD 278 at the Rastel bridge, the Carmignan footbridge in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, the Drouilhèdes bridge in Bessèges (RD 386), the Cassagnoles bridge in Vézénobres (RD 106), the bridge over the Rieutord in the hamlet of Villaret (RD 20C), the Clapouzes bridge in Chambon (RD 243A), the Grand tournant in Peyremale (RD 386), the ford over the Vis in Vissec (RD 814), the bridge over the Vis between Alzon and Vissec (RD 814), Paussan in Mialet on the RD50B, the Corbès bridge (eastern access) on the RD 284 and the submersible bridge in Anduze (RD 129A), the Massies bridge in Thoiras (RD 284A), the submersible bridges of the RD187 in Rochegude and Rivières.

The main roads are closed to traffic on the RD 906 at the temporary bridge of Chamborigaud and on the RD 22 at the Dions bridge. To follow the traffic situation, you have to go to inforoute.

School transport is suspended this Thursday in the municipalities of the Aigoual, Viganais, Piémont, Uzège, Gard rhodanien, Cèze Cévennes Nord, Alès sector, Gardonnenque and Cévennes Sud sectors.

There is no more rail traffic between Alès and Langogne until Friday, October 18.

For the weather forecast, 40 to 50 millimeters are expected in the Gard plains again this Thursday, locally 80 mm, as well as 100 to 120 mm on the Cévennes massif with heavy rain from mid-day. Improvement is forecast for Friday.
