Gilles d’Etorre in prison, Thau Basin Hospitals adapt their governance

François Commeinhes empêché en raison de sa clinique, c'est Gilles d'Etorre qui préside le conseil de surveillance des Hôpitaux du bassin de Thau. Midi Libre – EVA TISSOT

Gilles d’Etorre still incarcerated, the presidency of the supervisory board of the Thau Basin Hospitals will be ensured, for the time necessary, by Jocelyne Gizardin, the vice-president.

Still incarcerated after the rejection of his request for release, Gilles d’Etorre also holds various responsibilities in Sète. He is notably the president of the Supervisory Board of the Hospitals of the Thau basin. The position should have been occupied by François Commeinhes. But the mayor of Sète, owner of a clinic, is de facto prevented.

As provided for in the statutes, in the event of a shortage, the position is then occupied, for the time necessary, by the vice-president-elect. Here a vice-president: Jocelyne Gizardin, deputy mayor of Sète, delegate for social action and health. "The establishment is not at all prevented from operating. It is not penalized either in its daily operation or in its projects", assures Amandine Papin, the director of the Thau Basin Hospitals.

Next advice in June

The next supervisory board of the establishment is scheduled for June. Its agenda could include an important and highly anticipated file: the reconstruction project of the Pergolines nursing home. The latter is currently the subject of discussions between the City and the Regional Health Agency (ARS) around the transfer – donation or long lease – of municipal land, located at the Jean-Macé school.
