The discovery of the two girls, inanimate in Saint-Apollinaire, Saturday noon, has upset the people of Quebec.
Several public figures have expressed their sadness on social networks.
The prime minister of Québec, François Legault, has published on his Facebook a message in which he said he was “upset” by the turn of events.
“It is a national tragedy”, he writes.
“It is the province of Quebec in whole crying with you today,” added the prime minister.
The vice-prime minister, Genevieve Guilbault, has also shared on Twitter a message of support to the mother of the girls.
“My heart weeps with that of the mother of Romy and Norah, to whom I wish a courage unimaginable,” can we read.
