Gisele Bündchen breaks silence on divorce from Tom Brady

For the first time since her divorce from Tom Brady, model Gisele Bündchen has discussed the reasons that led to the couple's separation and it wouldn't be football related. 

Rumors swirled everywhere last fall, when the two stars formalized their divorce. Several claimed that the 42-year-old resented the quarterback for giving up on retirement.

In February 2022, Brady announced he was hanging up his shoulder pads to focus on his family. A few weeks later, he changed his mind in order to reconnect with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In a long, emotional interview with “Vanity Fair” magazine, Bündchen refuted the allegations. She called the rumors “hurtful” and “the craziest things” she had ever heard.

“It takes years for it to happen, he said. – she said talking about a divorce. I always encouraged him and I always will.”

“If there's one person I want to see happy, it's him. Believe me! I want it to come true. I want all his dreams to come true. This is what I really want from the bottom of my heart.”

“What has been said [about the divorce] is just a small piece of a huge puzzle, Bundchen added. It's never all black or all white.”

The model and athlete were together for over 15 years and had two children together.

“When I I was 26 and he was 29, we met, we wanted a family, we wanted stuff together. Over time, we realized we just wanted different elements and we had a decision to make,” Bündchen said.

“That doesn't mean you don't like the person. It just means that to be authentic and truly live the life you want, you have to have someone who can meet you in the middle, right? It's a dance. It's a balance.”
