Google will add finally the encryption to the app Messages

Google ajoutera finalement le chiffrement à son appli Messages

Strangely, Google is a laggard in the security by encryption of its mail service Messages, while all others have built for a long time.

The famous encryption that protects exchanges between the two correspondents there is a long history of iMessages from Apple, on Messenger and WhatsApp, which belong to Facebook and on applications that do not have means of first, such as Signal and Telegram.

The exchanges are secured where only the sender and the recipient of the message can read it. These, therefore, are not accessible, neither by the company nor by hackers.

The new encryption app Messages Google comes from a leak that indicates that the encryption code has been integrated into an internal version of the instant messaging RCS (rich communication services), according to several media outlets that report the new APK Mirror.

Only through the Internet

To work, communications must pass through the Internet, either Wi-Fi or on the Internet cellular 4G. Without access to the Internet, messages pass through the protocol is not secure SMS or MMS.

As it is a leak, it is not known when the application Messages will support the encryption of end-to-end. But, at least, we know that it is in the cards somewhere in the offices of the giant Internet.

Full encryption of Messages will arrive without doubt at the publication of an update by Google.
