Pour leur quatrième étape de l’été, les Estivales de Thau s’installent à Sète, ce jeudi 25 juillet, sur la place Victor-Hugo.
The Estivales de Thau continue their tour of the pond and make a stopover this Thursday, July 25, in Sète. The event will be held on Place Victor-Hugo, a stone's throw from the station, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. A gourmet and itinerant summer event, the Estivales invite visitors to come "discover local wines and products in an atmosphere festive and aperitif, with friends or family" to celebrate the gastronomic diversity of a territory labeled "Vignobles & Discoveries".
The most important shellfish growing area in the Mediterranean
On the program, tasting stands (wines, oysters, mussels, tielles, biscuits, chocolates, ice creams…), all outdoors in a tavern and festive atmosphere. As a reminder, the Thau basin constitutes the most important shellfish production area in the Mediterranean with some 6,000 tonnes of oysters and 5,000 tonnes of mussels produced per year, for around 600 producers and 550 farms. Since 2018, the territory has also become a new "wine tourism destination", which brings it into the very select club of destinations of excellence in France.
