Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie: the Great return walk on the weekend

For the eighth presentation of the Grande Marche, the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie will hold the activity this weekend in a hybrid formula with the collaboration of 100 municipalities in Quebec.

The very popular event in Quebec will begin Friday in Saguenay, then Saturday in the Capitale-Nationale and will end in Montreal on Sunday, as organizers expect to exceed last year's participation record with 134,574 walkers.

“I hope that the population will respond in large numbers, because the Great Walk is a way to contribute to a healthier Quebec. We can't say it enough: being active helps prevent many illnesses,” indicated the co-founder of the Grand Défi, Pierre Lavoie.

As part of the partnership with the Grand Défi, the members of the Fédération des general practitioners of Quebec encourage their patients to lead a more active life by participating in the Great Walk.

“We hope more than ever that thousands and thousands of Quebecers of all ages will give themselves the gift of get moving by joining us for these festive walks that are above all accessible to everyone,” said Dr. Marc-André Amyot, President of the FMOQ.
