Grand Prix: Lance Stroll hopes for fewer problems in Miami

UPDATE DAY

In 2022, Lance Stroll had to deal with a recalcitrant car in Miami, but still finished 10th in the Grand Prix. We have the right to wonder what the Quebecer could now accomplish in Florida with a very high-performance single-seater.

The Aston Martin driver is accumulating good results at the start of the campaign, including a seventh position last weekend in Azerbaijan. A few days later, the great circus of Formula 1 is in the United States for a second event in as many weeks.

For his team's website, Stroll reflected on his experience of the last year in Miami. After a 10th place in qualifying, he was relegated to the back due to fuel temperature issues.

“I have mixed feelings compared to last year. I had to start from the pits due to a problem before the race, but I managed to fight back through the pack and finish 10th, which was a pretty good result, he said on Wednesday. The track itself is fast, but tough: just like a street circuit should be.”

Stroll really likes these more technical tracks with lots of turns. This will only be the second Grand Prix in Miami, but the first was a real success at the box office. On the track, you have to keep both eyes open.

“You have to be ready to take risks, but you can be punished for going beyond the limits [of the track]. That's what I like though! As always, we'll be pushing through the weekend to make sure we come out of this doubleheader knowing we've done our best to score points,” Stroll said.

At 27 points, the Montrealer is in eighth place in the drivers' standings. On the manufacturers' side, Aston Martin ranks second.
