Grumbling from municipal police officers: the Hérault-Gard autonomous federation calls for... not to demonstrate

Negotiations are currently underway with the Ministry of the Interior. Midi Libre – MiKAEL ANISSET

The Hérault-Gard Autonomous Municipal Police Federation dissociates itself from the gatherings planned for this Saturday, February 3.

"When you are negotiating and you have already achieved progress, it is not appropriate to demonstrate."&amp ;nbsp;Fabien Golfier and Jean-Michel Weiss are unanimous. The national secretary FA-FPT and the secretary general of the Autonomous Federation of Municipal Police Hérault-Gard, the main union organization of municipal police officers and guards -country people are therefore not calling for gatherings this Saturday and February 3.

A desire for dialogue

Returning to the fact that several union organizations or associations are calling for rallies in front of the prefectures this Saturday, the two representatives believe that if "certain demands are totally shared by the Autonomous Federation, however this powerful union in the ranks of this sector takes a different look. Thus indicating that "the FA municipal police ( FA-FPT), continues to favor the path of dialogue with the government.

The Hérault-Gard Autonomous Municipal Police Federation thus recalls that "Delegate Minister Dominique Faure contacted us upon her arrival at the Ministry of the Interior, was regular in her meetings, gave us some answers, removed certain points that caused concern and a new meeting is set at the ministry for February 13. Negotiations are therefore continuing, beyond the ministerial reshuffle".

"We don't leave the table before dessert"

The union representatives stressing that "municipal police officers and category C country guards have just benefited from advances in terms of the index scale just like directors in category A". If they moderate the many advances remaining to be made, in particular to "improve the retirement conditions of the 26,000 municipal police officers and country guards", they conclude by emphasizing the idea that at the "FA-FPT, we do not leave the table before dessert. especially since our host has made improvements and discussions are open, note Jean-Michel Weiss.

The union thus judges "these gatherings to be inappropriate even though negotiations are underway".
