Le FTHB a conforté sa place de leader en signant ce vendredi 4 octobre sa cinquième victoire de rang, 42-35 face à Caen.

The Frontignan public was once again treated to a demonstration of its FTHB, in a match that pitted two teams against each other that were still undefeated this season. There is only one left and it is the best.

Lignières in control

By imposing a high pace, the locals quickly made the gap. Lignières scored on the counter and then offered two passes to Isnard and Camara: 7-4. By fighting like a lion on both sides of the field, Laurens was rewarded. His third goal, on a roucoulette, got Ferrari up, and his fourth made the thermometer explode (13-10). And as Lignières and Camara rode like greyhounds, the gap widened (15-10).

The Caen Vikings were starting to have water in the hold. A feat by Diot, at close range, then two goals by Isnard and – again – Lignières brought the score to 19-12. And since the Frontignan public never has enough, Camara added his touch of spectacle to reach the break with the score at 26-18.

Suffice to say that we had just experienced a little offensive orgy. And as good managers, the Frontignanais were then going to manage their lead. Pages made his third save in a few minutes and, opposite, Druguet went to four since his entry in the second half.

But it was the FTHB goalkeeper who was going to take the spotlight. After his sixth save, he saw Lignières score a sumptuous goal (33-23). ​​Caen was unable to keep up the pace (38-28) but at least had the merit of not giving up to come back to 40-34. Moment chosen by Pages to close the shop for good, before a final goal by Duchaussoy and the collective dance of the true boss of the Proligue.
