L’entraîneur montpelliérain balançait entre satisfaction d’un dernier match réussi avec un nul arraché à Lens (2-2), dimanche 19 mai, mais aussi les regrets d’une saison compliquée.
"Even in the first half, even if we conceded two goals, we built well but we lacked aggression in front of goal. We lacked the conviction to put them in danger. What I told them during the break. But we knew how to come back. And I'm happy, it's two little young people who score.
Lens had situations but "Dimi" (Bertaud) made some great saves. At times they were clumsy. You have to be efficient. It allowed us to come back.
Our goal was to come back and put doubt in the minds of the Lensois. But they had situations in the first period as well as in the second.
The season? Of course we have regrets regarding the squad in particular. Even if Clermont stopped us in our tracks, we would have been 6th at that time, mentally we gave up at times, we could have had a much better season.
Maamma ? He produced a clean copy, he is able to give good balls, to do good things. He didn't have a better match than last week (during his debut against Monaco, Editor's note), but he did some good things.
They say that I don't let young people play. But Wahi I launched it, as I launched many in Nantes, Montpellier or Clermont. When they're good, we put them on the field.
Jullien's exit? We'll see the exams but I hope it's nothing serious. It would be a shame if it’s a serious injury. We'll see. Fayad felt a tip on the free kick."
