Since September 2030, Jean-Laurent, 36 years old and suffering from severe autism, has returned to live at the family home in Fontaine (Isère). As the reception centers are saturated, his parents, aged 66 and 69, are worried about the future of their son.
Jean-Laurent suffers from severe autism. His disability does not allow him to be independent, he must be constantly supervised: "In the street, you have to hold his hand. You have to watch him when he washes, when he eats", explains his mother to Actu Grenoble.
Not finding a place in a home, his parents aged 66 and 69 kept him at home, in Fontaine (Isère). An increasingly difficult situation for these retirees, while their 36-year-old son returned to the family home last September. For six years, Jean-Laurent lived at the Foyer d’medical reception center, in Isère.

"He screamed with all his might"
But the few months before his departure, "he came back with traces of beatings. When we had to bring him back, he screamed at the top of his lungs", his father told our colleagues. This is why they slammed the door of the establishment, without realizing that it would be impossible to find another one.
Given their age, Jean-Laurent's parents are worried about the idea that he might end up alone. The father of the family  ;refuses the idea of seeing his son admitted to a psychiatric hospital when they die: "We don't want him to be made into a vegetable& quot;.
