Ce week-end, la nuit du samedi 15 juin, quatre amis rentrèrent d’une soirée lorsqu’ils ont fait une rencontre pas banale.

Some young people returning from one evening, during the night of Saturday 15th to Sunday 16th June. On their way, they made a new acquaintance, a small animal, in the Guillotière district, in Lyon.

A "fat cat" ?

One of these young people has an x ​​account (formerly Twitter) followed by more than 20,000 people named "Memesdelyon", according to Actu Lyon. "My friend, who went to urinate in a small street, then felt that something had licked his calf. A sort of presence", one of them tells our colleagues.

At first, the young man thought it was just a “big cat”, but when he turns on the flash on his phone, he discovers a surprise. It was a red fox, which they nicknamed La steph.

Steph "is not fearful, and seems to be coming a little closer", explains the owner from the account "Memesdelyon". "He was super cute, we were able to pet him a little. The coat is a little rough, but still soft. We washed our hands with hydroalcoholic gel after ", he adds.

The reasons for this presence

The reason for this appearance of the fox is still unknown, the Association of Species Among Lyon remains vigilant to find out the reason for this presence. One of the hypotheses is that perhaps the animal is there because of a shortage of food.

However, several people from the association are quite surprised by the fox's behavior. "For us, it seems impossible, unless he is sick and then he doesn't look thin. Or maybe they had a one in a thousand chance. But normally, a fox will flee as quickly as possible", explains Victorine De Lachaine, co-director of the collective.
