“He has no consideration for women”: Isild Le Besco denounces Emmanuel Macron’s recent comments about Gérard Depardieu

The actress and director Isild Le Besco testifies in her book "Dire Vrai" of sexual predation in the world of cinema. Invited by BFM, she denounced Emmanuel Macron's recent statements on Gérard Depardieu.

Gérard Depardieu will be tried in October 2024 in Paris for sexual assault on two women during filming in 2021. He has also been indicted since 2020 for rape and sexual assault on a young actress, Charlotte Arnould. Several other complaints have been filed against the 75-year-old actor. The latter denies the facts with which he is accused.

"Only words"

"It’s just words, reacted Isild Le Besco on BFM about the remarks of the President of the Republic. Emmanuel Macron has probably never experienced difficult things for him to lie to this point to himself and to all of France. […] He has no consideration.

"When we see (that) a woman (raped) is not considered, let justice dismiss this, [ …] I find that absolutely crazy. (Emmanuel Macron) despises women to the core. Otherwise, he would have another speech", she added on the set of the continuous news channel this May 12.

His relationship with Benoît Jacquot

In his book Dire Vrai (editions Denoël), Isild Le Besco&amp ;nbsp;tells his relationship with director Benoît Jacquot, which began on the set of the film Sade when she was 16 and he was 52.
