Furious because a woman and her son did not comply with the measures of social distancing, a man opened fire in the lobby of a Miami hotel.
Monday night, Douglas Marks, 29 years old, fired several rifle shots into the floor of the hotel, authorities say. Fortunately, the incident was not of a victim, reports the New York Daily News.
“It happened, and then began to shoot. The mother and son were crying and were really scared,” said one witness.
Many tourists, as well as the employees, have also had a blue fear.
The police explained that the man had confronted the woman and her son because they did not comply with the measures put in place to curb the COVID-19.
According to authorities, the suspect has lost patience, took his gun and fired at least four shots warning while he was screaming.
Douglas Marks was formally charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, making fire in a public place and to have used a firearm to commit a crime.
