A sexagenarian was arrested in the Gaspé region, on Thursday morning, after being in collision with a autopatrouille of the Sûreté du Québec, while he was taking a leak.
The authorities have been called to go into the sector of the 2nd rank, to be Drilled, to intercept a vehicle that was travelling at high speed around 8am in the morning.
The latter has finally been located on the route 132 westbound, in the area of Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé, performing dangerous manoeuvres.
A patrol vehicle is positioned more to the west on the 132, in the area of the Bench of Pabos, in order to intercept the suspect. But the latter did not deign to slow down and hit, head-on the front of the police car.
Fortunately, the officer was disembarked from his vehicle and suffers no injury,” says the spokesman of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Hélène Nepton.
The hit from Cap-d’espoir, however, suffers minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. He could face charges of dangerous driving, impaired and leak.
Traffic was stopped on route 132, between the road to Hamilton and the road to McTavish to allow peace officers to do their work.
