He tries to repair an electric scooter stolen from the store where the victim bought it and ends up in police custody

Ce samedi 11 mai 2024, un homme d’une trentaine d’années a été arrêté à Nantes après avoir essayé de faire réparer une trottinette électrique volée dans le magasin où la victime l’avait acheté 1 500 euros quelques semaines plus tôt.

His electric scooter breaks down and therefore decides to have it repaired in a specialized store in Nantes, reports France Bleu. But the vehicle, worth 1,500 euros, had been reported stolen since April when a burglary took place on rue Fouré, in the city center. The victim went to the store to inform the staff of this mishap.

This Saturday, May 11, 2024 morning, when the technician examines the electric scooter, he quickly realizes that its owner is not the person in front of him. Its memory, serial number and model allow it to confirm that it is not the correct owner.

The man taken into custody

The store employee immediately contacts the police. In a few minutes, investigators arrived in the store and arrested the man in his thirties suspected of being behind this burglary or of having purchased the stolen scooter, before placing him in police custody.
