Health and mutual insurance fraud in Gard, the trial is postponed, the suspect is hospitalized

Implicated in a colossal health and mutual insurance scam, Bagnolaise will appear on October 4, 2024 before the Nîmes criminal court. 

Prosecuted for health and mutual insurance fraud, a Bagnolaise woman was absent before the Nîmes criminal court on February 16. She was hospitalized and the case was postponed until October 4.  This fifty-year-old is also being prosecuted for forgery and use of forgery.

Real health concerns

Between 2015 and 2022, this patient would have defrauded a total sum estimated at nearly 1.3M€ to civil parties (private and mutual insurance). The patient, who had real health concerns – she was hospitalized between 15 and 18 weeks per year – would have deceived these insurances and mutual. She had taken out 29 insurance contracts, under her maiden name, her married name or with both associated names.  These insurance contracts covered the packages hospital with a "single" room. Each time she was hospitalized, she would have sent the invoices to all these insurance and mutual insurance companies. Reimbursements have thus been multiplied by 10 or even 20 times. An insurer filed a complaint in early 2022 and the investigation was then entrusted to the Departmental Security police officers.
