The heat alerts will cover a large part of Quebec on Thursday, while violent thunderstorms could hit a part of these regions.
All of southern Quebec is covered by the heat alerts, except the Côte-Nord, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie.
Temperatures oscilleront between 30 degrees Celsius in the region of Quebec city and Lac-Saint-Jean to 36 in the Ottawa valley. The humidex exceeds 40 to point 44 in the montreal region.
The south shore of the St. Lawrence, the Mauricie, Lanaudière and the Quebec city region have been put under vigilance to severe thunderstorms for the afternoon and the evening.
The conditions will be able to produce strong gusts, hail, causing damage and heavy rain.
The heatwave is expected to last until Saturday, according to Environment Canada.
