Her son was sucked out of the plane in mid-flight: the chilling testimony of a Boeing 737 MAX 9 passenger

This Friday, January 5, an Alaska Airlines flight in the United States turned into a nightmare 2024 when part of the plane took off in mid-flight, sucking in passengers' personal belongings and forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Portland.

"An adrenaline rush like I've never had in my entire life". This Boeing 737 MAX 9 passenger will remember her flight with Alaska Airlines for a long time. 

As a reminder, a door had come off in mid-flight. Although the incident did not cause any injuries, it traumatized many travelers. A 15-year-old boy was even almost sucked out of the device, his mother Faye told Seattle Times. The latter is angry and accuses the company of having minimized the incident. 

In mid-flight, the latter hears a loud detonation, "like a bomb exploding". She turns around and sees her son's seat twisting “backward and outward from the plane, toward the hole.” ;

Her clothes torn off

"I reached out and grabbed his body and pulled him over the armrest to me , she explains.  I just held him in my arms and I told him several times: 'It's okay. It's good. It's okay, old man. I only realized after the robbery that his clothes had been torn off the top of his body."

Faye also says she saw the flight attendant particularly shocked when she called her for help. “I remember thinking that she didn't know there was a hole in that plane,” she points out.
