For a second consecutive year, The Journal presents the winners unenviable of 100 plants that emit the most greenhouse gas emissions in Québec. Our map helps you to find these factories, located at the four corners of Québec, and whether their balance sheet is improved.
Each symbol of this map corresponds to a plant or a company. Its color
corresponds to its sector of activity. Its diameter is proportional to the number of tons
of CO2 equivalent. Select to learn more about it.

Note to readers
Québec shall publish officially validated data on the emissions of GHG at the end of the year. At this time, these data will already be old in three years. The Journal has therefore chosen to work with the preliminary data of the ministry of Environment of Québec as soon as they were available. The changes that might occur would be minimal as the provincial government uses data from the federal which have already been validated. Note that these figures exclude GHG emissions from the production of biomass.
