Hip-Hop: Young Breakers Pass on Their Passion

Jusqu'au 15 août, l'école de danse alésienne All'Style est en tournée dans les communes des Cévennes. Et ce sont les élèves les plus âgés qui recrutent la prochaine génération. 

As this Tuesday, August 6, the All’Style caravan prepares to begin its second evening of the festival, Mylène, Camille, Lionel and Lucas are the first to arrive on site. These four young dancers in their twenties, who have "followed All’Style since its beginnings", are now devoting themselves to initiating other future dancers.

For a week, they approach them, tempt them to join the crew of breakdancers from Alès. “We teach them that in this dance, they are free, that they do what they want”, explains Mylène. “We tell them about the origins of hip-hop, the link with the culture of the neighborhoods, it's a discovery that is made through the basics! Then, they learn a few steps. Battles are what they prefer", adds Lionel.
