L'artiste autrichien Wolfgang Flatz met sa propre peau aux enchères, ce jeudi 8 février. La marchandise achetée sera envoyée après sa mort alors qu'il compte offrir à son fils un abat-jour fait avec sa peau.

A pretty sordid idea. An Austrian artist named Wolfgang Flatz is putting his skin up for auction this Thursday, February 8, reports the Swiss daily Blick. His skin being decorated with tattoos, he is convinced that it is a work of art.

It will therefore be possible to purchase it at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich (Germany) at the starting price of one euro.

As Wolfgang Flatz is still alive, it is not his real skin that is being auctioned, but only a photograph of the place in question. Buyers will thus receive part of the artist's skin upon his death.

"My skin belongs to me, I can do with it what I want"

The latter thus sells different parts of his body, mainly where the different tattoos are placed. "My skin belongs to me, I can do with it what I want", explains Wolfgang Flatz.

The Austrian artist also explains that if his artistically decorated body were to be damaged or even mutilated, his tattoos would of course be insured.

Wolfgang also planned, upon his death, to leave his son a lampshade made from his skin. It remains to be seen whether the latter will appreciate it.
