We discovered frightened and emaciated dogs barking relentlessly on a field. Among the ten canines found, some were locked in enclosures where daylight slipped through with difficulty in fine spaces. What they appreciated above all were all the caresses and tender moments that we shared for their first night at the shelter […] We discovered wonderful dogs […] who never ;#39;have absolutely no resentment towards humans despite the ordeal and the cruelty to which they have been victims."
The director of the Rodez SPA, Jean-Pierre Blanc, became a civil party by filing a complaint after the discovery. He indicated at the time of the events that the owners of the premises "had left for several days". The two defendants were thus absent when the animals were recovered and brought to the Ruthenian shelter for treatment.
