“I am stunned”: he learns in the press that his house could be razed for a tram project

David Larderet, habitant de Tassin-la-Demie-Lune, a récemment découvert la presse que sa propriété risquait d'être rasée par le projet de tramway express de l'ouest lyonnais (TEOL) souhaité par la Métropole de Lyon.

David Larderet, owner of a home in Tassin-la-Demie-Lune since 2011, sees his land threatened by the TEOL. The latter will connect the 7th arrondissement of Lyon to the west of Lyon.

He declares in ActuLyon having "learned in a magazine that my house could be affected&nbsp ;in the case of two scenarios for creating this express tramway". Not initially believing the information provided in the press, he says today "stunned".  Just like around fifteen other properties on his street, his house could be razed as part of an expropriation, allowing the passage of future public transportation.

Even for "all the money in the world"…

An unthinkable situation for this owner since 2011: "All the money in the world won't be able to replace our house", he assures our colleagues.

"When we bought this property, it was abandoned. We have completely renovated it, it's a little glass lung in the middle of the city, he says. The owner, who is now operating as a guest house in this old farm and former market garden, requests the  #39;stopping of the tram project.

Worried to see his property of 200m2 for 800m2 of garden sacrificed by the environmentalists' project, he gets annoyed: "The house that I&# 39;I bought back at 200 years old. For a tram project which is not a credible alternative to the car, we will destroy houses, remarkable trees, gardens ?"< /p>

A project still under debate

Although he is very worried, David Larderet has not yet lost all hope of keeping his property. Last February, a public consultation was organized to debate the three possible scenarios. The outcome of this consultation will not be known until the spring, but one of the avenues considered made it possible to avoid expropriation.
