“I do not allow lies”: Jacques Doillon responds to accusations of rape and sexual assault from several actresses

Le réalisateur Jacques Doillon, accusé de viols et d'agressions sexuelles par plusieurs actrices, a répondu dans un communiqué qu'il a transmis à l'AFP.

The affair continues to grow. Director Jacques Doillon is accused by several actresses of rape and sexual assault. He decided to respond through a press release which he sent to the Agence France Presse and also indicated that he was at the disposal of justice, reports BFMTV.

"Arbitrary denunciations and false accusations"

"That Judith Godrèche and other women through her are keen to denounce a system, an era, a society, is courageous, laudable and necessary. But the justness of the cause does not authorize arbitrary denunciations, false accusations and lies", explains the 79-year-old filmmaker in the press release.

The director then assured to follow closely what is happening in the world of cinema, with the multiple accusations targeting different protagonists of the big screen. "I watch with attention this upheaval, not to say this revolution, initiated and carried by women whose voice has been freed for several years now", a- he indicated, quoted by Télé Loisirs.

"However, I never committed the acts with which I am accused and I will bring to justice, since it is now seized, all the factual elements at my disposal to demonstrate my innocence", he continued.

The accusations multiply

Speech continues to be freed. Two other actresses, Isild Le Besco and Anna Mouglalis, denounce sexual assault on the part of the director, according to the testimonies of  Monde. In 2000, Isild Le Besco worked with Jacques Doillon on the preparation of the film Carrément à l'ouest, released in 2001.

Several sessions took place at the director's home. "When I refused to sleep with him, he told me withdrew from the project and gave the role to his daughter", Lou Doillon, whom he had with Jane Birkin, she explains, quoted by  BFM.

Anna Mouglalis accuses the director of having sexually assaulted her in 2011. That year Jacques Doillon just cast his companion at the time Samuel Benchetrit.
