“I feel like a robot”: serial errors, endless waiting… this McDonald's in Occitanie is in turmoil

Le McDonald’s de Villefranche-de-Lauragais traverse une période difficile marquée par des attentes interminables, des erreurs de commande et une montée des incivilités. Que se passe-t-il vraiment dans ce fast-food ?

Depuis plusieurs semaines, les clients se plaignent de longues attentes, même en période de faible affluence. Estelle, une habituée raconte “I waited 30 minutes for two ice creams, when there was almost no one there… This is not normal".

Ordering errors are also common, amplifying frustration. On online review platforms, many customers express their dissatisfaction. “Went to the drive-through, very long wait. “The staff is nice but clearly understaffed,” wrote Corinne, another customer.

Mass departures and work overload

The situation worsened with a wave of departures among employees in August, according to La Voix du Midi. “Right now, the situation is complicated, it even worries me,” confides an employee under cover of anonymity.

“There were 12 departures at once. The other day, there were only two of us on my shift”. Under pressure, she admits to making more mistakes than before: “I do, I do, without stopping. I feel like a robot”.

Faced with these difficulties, customers' attitudes have hardened. The employee reports being the victim of violent insults: “A customer told me: It's about time, dirty prostitute*, but even more vulgar terms”.

A recurring problem

Gérard Ramus, manager of several McDonald's in the region, confirms that the lack of staff is a recurring problem, particularly in August. “Many employees only work summer and leave us in August," he explains to our colleagues.

The restaurant is currently looking to recruit around ten full-time employees, but applications are few and far between. "We have set up recruitment campaigns, but no one is applying," he laments. Without immediate reinforcements, the future looks difficult for the McDonald’s in Villefranche-de-Lauragais.
