A resident of Nice saw his daily routine lead him to the jackpot. With a two-cent coin that never leaves his side, he won a colossal sum of 750,000 euros by scratching a gambling ticket. This lucky winner, true to his habits, celebrated this victory discreetly. 

This is not the first time this man has tried his luck. Every day, when he passes a point of sale of the Française des Jeux (FDJ), he buys four tickets from his favorite range, "Illiko". Among his rituals, one element stands out: a two-cent coin that he considers a fetish. When he gets home, he meticulously scratches his tickets, always in the same order: Mega Goal, Cash, Jackpot, then X20.

It's with the first ticket of his session, a Mega Goal bought at the tobacconist's “The Diplomat”in Nice-Nord, where he hit the jackpot. With eight balls scratched, it is the maximum gain of 750,000 euros that is displayed before his eyes brings in Nice-matin.

A hobby that brings in big money

The man, nicknamed the “Kylian Mbappé of scratching”, has his little habits well anchored. “I have my little hobby”, he explains with a smile. “I always take my four favorite games and scratch them in a very specific order with my lucky coin”. This habit, which may seem harmless, has earned him a considerable sum, although lower than the records set by other players in the region.

A message filled with emotion

In shock, the winner immediately felt the need to share the news with his son according to our colleagues. “I was so stunned, I didn't have any particular reaction”, he says.

But he didn't take long to send a message to his son with these few meaningful words: “We found the financing for our real estate project”. This project, of which few details have been revealed, could well transform this stroke of luck into a sustainable investment.
