The new coach of the Béziers Angels, who will resume the championship on September 28, took up residence at the club this summer. A recognized personality in the world of volleyball, the former French international intends to propel the Béziers Angels into the upper echelons of the championship.

The Béziers Angels have acquired a new coach in the person of Frédéric Havas for the next three seasons. A strong choice for the club with a view to launching a new era. The former general manager of Levallois did not hesitate for long. “I arrive in a structured and ambitious club with which it is possible to seek titles, he declares.A lot of work awaits us, the challenge promises to be exciting, even if with the many changes and a new philosophy, we are on a transition to manage."

With his 1.95m under the height, the technician imposes himself, including in his conception of volleyball which pushed him to swap the player's jersey for that of a coach: "I am always in search of analysis, performance. With my experience, nourished by my professional experience, the passion and love of this sport made me stay in the environment. This profession is however complex, the valuation of our work is subjective."

Connection already established

The native of Kaolack (Senegal) decided to radically change his life by landing in the South. He details :“My wife (Karine, a former player for the Béziers club) and two of my children stayed in Paris. One joined the IFVB (Federal Volleyball Institute) in Toulouse, so in terms of the family, we are a bit scattered this year.” Major constraints, but also some points of reference: “I know the area very well, I owned a house not far from here, I studied in Montpellier and I played for Arago in Sète. I really don't feel out of place and I have the pleasant feeling of being at home. And with the sun almost every day, between Paris and here, my preference really goes to the blue sky of Hérault!"

It is clearly no coincidence that the former striker with 138 caps for the French team has a career spanning around ten clubs and endless trips all over the world.

“I see great complementarity in the group”

By setting down his bags in Béziers at the age of 51, Frédéric Havas arrives with his ideas and principles specific to his sporting development. He wants to do things properly, by optimizing the possible associations between the girls. The majority of the players know the level of the championship and its demands, despite an uncertainty that should never be overlooked. I perceive a balance in our lines, and I see a great complementarity in the group to approach the competition. The technician repeats it over and over: his vision of volleyball is that of "solid fundamentals at the base. When we see the remarkable performances of the men on the world circuit, it is a reference to this notion. I like consistency, in the application of our strategy and the efforts to be made collectively. The team is new today, but Béziers will return to the court to win matches by producing good volleyball collectively. As I told the girls, drawing inspiration from certain concepts."

Beziers volleyball will travel to Rome next week to play a tournament against Italian, Spanish and Swiss teams. The team that wins this event will qualify for the Challenge Cup. The first day of the championship will take place on Saturday, September 28, the Biterroises will host Chamalières at the Palais des sports. I subscribe to read the rest
