“I no longer know what I did”: sex attacker of 52-year-old Swiss tourist sentenced to three years in prison

The 29-year-old man, who attacked a tourist of Swiss origin on the Promenade des Anglais, received three years in prison and ten years of inadmissibility in immediate appearance this Wednesday January 3, 2024.
As reported by Actu17, in Nice on the Promenade des Anglais, a 29-year-old man was arrested this Monday, January 1, 2024, suspected of having sexually assaulted a 52-year-old tourist who was walking her dog.
The man allegedly took the fifty-year-old towards a grove before burying his face in her neck, all the while putting a hand on her buttocks,' nbsp;according to a police source cited by BFMTV.
"I apologize to the victims"
Police officers who were nearby were able to intervene quickly. During his arrest, the man violently rebelled and injured two municipal police officers. Furthermore, the police found a knife on him, according to Actu17.
Tried in immediate appearance this Wednesday, January 3, the 29-year-old man explained that he no longer remembers what he did: "I remained in custody for two days on sight. I don't know what I did anymore. I apologize to the victims."
He continues: "I was at a party, it was New Years. I had drunk vodka. However, he remembers neither the attack nor the way in which he returned home.
"I spent my time on the walk (…) I tripped over someone and a dog, but I didn't I don't remember anymore."
Sentenced to three years of imprisonment
The 29-year-old man is being tried immediately on January 3 for charges of sexual assault by a person in a state of obvious intoxication, rebellion and prohibited carrying of category D weapon.
The public prosecutor requested three years of imprisonment as well as a committal warrant against the accused, a deprivation of eligibility, a ban on holding a weapon for five years, registration in the file of sexual attackers and finally a ban on national territory for 10 years.
The prefect issued an OQTF (obligation to leave French territory) against him on January 2.
