After more than ten years at the highest level, is there still an element of unknown and excitement at the start of the season??

We still have the excitement. The excitement of resuming the championship, meeting your fans again, meeting the competition, real competition again. It doesn't matter if you've been playing for more than ten years or if you're starting for the first time, you never get tired of it. You dreamed about it for so many years when you were a kid.

There's always an element of the unknown ?

There is one because it is a new championship, because there is a transfer window in progress. I am a bit of a marathon runner. I have experienced seasons where we started well but at the end of the transfer window, if you lose five players, your team is no longer the same. I will take stock on September 1st.

Is it difficult to define a ambition ?

We are affected by the economic situation of French football. I don't think we can have huge ambitions. For now, we can see it clearly, there is zero movement.

What is your view on the Olympic Games ?

Honestly, I would have loved to do them. Why ? Maybe the Olympic side, maybe the athlete side, which is in me. I can't wait for Joris to come home so he can tell me.

I have a huge respect for athletes because they train like crazy for a race. He trains, he pulls a hamstring and goodbye. You prepare for four years for that, while for us the matches are repeated from week to week. I have a respect for these athletes, I would like it to be emphasized even more. Like Teddy Riner who I love.
