“I screamed but no one heard me”: the ordeal of a young woman stuck all night in a chairlift

La jeune femme a passé la nuit du jeudi 25 au vendredi 26 janvier 2024, bloquée sur un télésiège dans le froid glacial.

Going snowboarding in California with her friends, Monica Laso did not expect to experience such an ordeal. On Thursday, January 25, after their snowy activities and seeing that she was struggling to follow them, the young woman's friends advised her to take the chairlift to go down, reports 7sur7.be.

The chairlift started up again the following morning

"Everything seemed normal when I boarded, she says. "But a few minutes later, everything stopped. I screamed as hard as I could, but no one heard me, she told KCRA TV.< /p>

Worried not to see her join them at the bottom of the slopes, her friends then contacted the authorities. They then set out to look for the young woman, in vain.

Monica Laso had to wait alone for almost 15 hours in the freezing night, before the chairlift started up again the next morning and released her.

She says: "I was constantly rubbing my hands and feet to try to warm up".
