François Vérove, better known as "Grêlé", one of the most sought-after serial killers in France, appeared on the show "Everybody Wants take his place" in 2019.
He takes part in a game show while on the run. While he was wanted throughout France, François Vérove, better known under the name of "Grêlé", serial killer and rapist who escaped justice for several decades, who committed suicide in Gard in 2021, had participated in Nagui's show, "Everyone wants to take their place". His appearance on France 2 was revealed this Tuesday on Marianne.
Bare face
If François Vérove was hounded by the entire French police, he was not afraid to show his face uncovered on a television set.
His physical characteristics had been clearly established for decades, but that did not prevent him from participating in the show during the hour of noon on the second channel, presented by Nagui. As we can see in the video, François Vérove is there, on the set facing the host of France 2.

During his appearance on the game show, "The pockmarked" even looks back on his career within the police force. "I was a policeman on foot, on motorcycle and on horseback", he had fun while responding in Nagui.
Although the scene may seem barely believable, it is nevertheless very real. According to his wife, the wanted man never left him. ;the impression of wanting to protect one's identity, explains journalist Patricia Tourancheau in her book Le Grêlé: The killer was a cop (edition of Le Seuil), as well as in the & #39;show "L'hour du crime" on RTL at the end of last February.
"He said kisses to me, goodbye, darling"
On September 29, 2021 at Grau-du-Roi, the endless hunt for the Grêlé who for more than 35 years deceived dozens of people through his discretion ended. At Montpellier when he worked at the central police station, at Prades-le- Lez when he reached the position of municipal councilor or even to the Grande-Motte  ;as a caring neighbor and trouble-free family man.
And it's in the famous Hérault seaside resort that François Vérove spent his last years as a good head of the family. Light years away from his appalling crimes. When the DNA spoke on September 29 and the investigators made the link between François Vérove and Le Grêlé, it was a cold shower for his family. His wife speaks for the first time the last hours of the serial killer, his departure from the house and his last words.< /p>
In a document that was able to be obtained Le Parisien, his wife, with whom he had been married since 1985, remembers the days leading up to his suicide. "He said kisses to me, goodbye, darling", she reports. It is Monday, September 27, that day, François Vérove gets on his bike and slips away from their house in La Grande-Motte. This is the last time she will see him.
