Six aspiring journalists will take on challenges in the field in the docuseries “The Interns”, which will be broadcast next fall on ICI RDI.

Investigative journalist Marie-Maude Denis will ensure that this experience is as educational and stimulating as possible. She will be supported by other mentors from the Radio-Canada news department.

Like real journalists, participants will be subject to time constraints, various filming challenges, verification facts and they will have to deal with unforeseen turnarounds, etc.

“We believe that documenting this internship, this experience, will allow citizens to better understand behind the scenes of the information professions”, said Wednesday, in a virtual press meeting, the director general of Information. of Radio-Canada, Luce Julien.

She recalled the issues relating to “the erosion of trust in institutions, and also in the media”, as well as the shortage of labor , even in journalism.

Those who show talent will be able to get a six-month paid internship with the team at the public broadcaster's information center, where filming will take place in May and in June.

The eight episodes relayed by the news channel will be produced by Pamplemousse Média, France Beaudoin's box.

The profiles sought are varied, candidates may have professional backgrounds related or not to journalism, and there is no age limit.

Simply register online gne [radio-canada.ca/lesstagiaires] by March 1. A first cohort of candidates will be pre-selected to take part in a selection camp scheduled for March.
