“If he's with us, it's because he feels good”: Oscar Jegou back in training with La Rochelle, as rape investigation nears its end

Jegou, 21, had participated in the last tour of the French team in Argentina. Before being accused with his teammate Hugo Auradou of “violent gang rape” of a 39-year-old Argentinian woman.  

The French international third row Oscar Jegou, still being prosecuted for rape in Argentina, has resumed training with his club La Rochelle, announced coach Sébastien Boboul on Thursday, two weeks after Hugo Auradou in Pau.

"Oscar has resumed training. He feels good. Anyway, if he is with us, it is because he feels good”, confided Boboul who did not want to dwell on Oscar. “We already talk about him a lot, I'm just happy that he's back with us at the training center”.

Jegou, 21, had participated in the last tour of the French team in Argentina. A starter during the first match against the Pumas in Mendoza, he had been indicted, with Auradou, for “gang rape” of a 39-year-old Argentinian woman who had spent part of the night of July 6 to 7 in their hotel room after this meeting.

The complainant discredited by the psychiatric and psychological expert report

According to judicial sources, the investigation into the alleged rape of this Argentinian woman by the two French rugby players, authorized to return to France on September 4, seems to be coming to an end after the study of the psychiatric and psychological expert report of the complainant.

He notes "a series of inconsistencies and contradictions […] that overall paint an unlikely story". According to concordant sources in Mendoza, the prosecution could very soon set a date for examining the request for dismissal filed by the lawyers of the two players.
