The 220 students of the La Guette school have until the end of the week to take possession of the outfits.

For the 2024 school year, all students from CP to CM2 at La Guette school in Pérols will wear a unique outfit. Between Monday 26 and Friday 30 August, parents are invited to come and collect their children's outfits at the family space, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. By the first morning, 70 of the 222 outfits had already been distributed, and the majority of parents present expressed their satisfaction with this initiative.

A complete kit to cover all seasons and all activities. E. ARRAOU – Midi Libre

Designed to adapt to all seasons and school activities, the kit, completely free for families, includes two sweatshirts, two zippers, four short-sleeved T-shirts, four long-sleeved T-shirts, two short-sleeved polo shirts and two long-sleeved polo shirts. The logo, a pink flamingo, was chosen by the parents of the students. While the tops are imposed, families are free to choose the bottoms, respecting a palette of dark colors: navy blue, dark gray or black. From the start of the school year, restocking will be possible with the supplier, in order to allow each family to order additional items, if necessary, via a personal account.

Only one school concerned… for now

“As soon as the decision was made, the parents of the Guette school showed their satisfaction. Many parents of the Font Martin school regretted not being able to participate in this experiment”, confides Jean-Pierre Rico, mayor of Pérols. The two schools in the town had been consulted, only the La Guette school voted in favor of the single uniform. “I offer the Font Martin school the possibility of voting again for the single uniform at the next school council meeting, in order to guarantee equality between all students in Pérols”, adds the mayor. If this option is chosen, there will just be a slight delay at the start of the school year in order to ensure the logistics of the orders. “I am impatiently waiting for the start of the school year, like a child, to see all the students of La Guette arrive in uniform”, concludes the mayor.

Total cost of the operation: 42,000 euros, 50% for the municipality of Pérols, 50% for the State.
