SAINTE-PERPÉTUE | The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) was the search, on Sunday, the driver of an SUV who may have witnessed the fatal collision followed by a hit-and-run that occurred Saturday in Sainte-Perpétue, in Centre-du-Québec.
Saturday afternoon, at around 14: 45, a very bad driver at the wheel of a Camaro Z28 red 1986 hit, head-on a motorcycle on the rang Saint-Joseph. The motorcyclist, a resident of Sainte-Perpétue, Paul Provencher, 41 years old, had been transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver fled and abandoned his car about a kilometre away to slip to the foot.
Contrary to what had been reported Saturday, the driver was the sole occupant of the car and had no passenger, has clarified the SQ on Sunday morning. The man was still being sought Sunday.
The provincial police believes that the driver of an SUV seen in the area may have seen something that could help advance the investigation. Various witnesses were also to be encountered on Saturday.
