“Imagine that one of our goalkeepers farts…” Patrice Canayer, the MHB coach, prefers to wait before jumping on a joker

Montpellier Handball lost Kyllian Villeminot for eight months and is wondering about the need to recruit a new element very quickly.

It's bad luck and it lasts. Since the start of the season, Montpellier Handball has not really been spared from injuries. In turn Yanis Lenne (adductors, abs), Stas Skube (knee) and Ahmed Hesham (knee) fell.

If the first finally returned before the international break, the other two will still have to wait. The Slovenian is expected in training in January. The Egyptian will not reappear on a match sheet until the summer.

Arthur Lenne absent for six weeks

The list of disabled people has unfortunately lengthened in recent days with the rupture of Kyllian Villeminot's Achilles tendon. Operated at the beginning of the week, the rear of the MHB is out for 8 months.

For Arthur Lenne, the last in the order of arrival at the infirmary, it will be shorter. The Montpellier pivot, injured in the shin last Tuesday in Nantes, will have to rest for four to six weeks. 

This new glitch could therefore encourage Hérault leaders to recruit a joker between now and February 3, the date of the resumption of French affairs (Coupe de France). "We'll think about it", explains Patrice Canayer, the coach "but we're not going to rush, we have to wait".

Wait in particular for the return of internationals who have traveled to the four corners of the world with the selections. "Imagine that one of our goalkeepers farts, what will we do if we have already recruited a joker ?"
