Left-wing representatives in the Cévennes capital are mobilizing to have a left-wing Prime Minister. They are meeting in early September to discuss future actions.

In Alès as in Paris, the anger of left-wing elected officials is making itself heard. For Jean-Michel Suau, municipal councilor, who describes Macron's refusal to appoint Lucie Castets to Matignon as a "democratic denial", it is time to think about the aftermath. “We need to figure out what we're going to do together. A majority must be found to implement the NFP program, even if Lucie Castets is not chosen as Prime Minister."

With a view to future mobilizations and actions, a meeting between the partners of the Alès NFP should be held at the beginning of September.

Relying on mobilization

The challenge of these upcoming mobilizations, according to the young Insoumis of Alès, is "to convince that the French vote is useful. We must go and see people again, continue to mobilize. We will continue to carry the NFP's wish to the government, and will continue the election campaign”, explains Corentin Dupuy, co-host of the young Insoumis of Alès, who assures that the national call to demonstrate on September 7 will be “followed. We will be there. The coalition in the lead must be called upon to govern. It is not up to the President to decide."

Citizen mobilization, for the communist Paul Planque, is one of the only ways to divert the arrival of the extreme right to power. "If we do not mobilize, the situation will remain as it is, for the benefit of finance, hammers the elected official. Macron favors the arrival of the RN to power. France has said, in a relative majority, to choose the left. He is sitting on it. He said that after the Olympics, people would get over the problem, but people's daily lives, expectations and anger remain the same,” explains Paul Planque, recalling that the decisions taken at Matignon have a direct impact on local authorities.

So, on the Alès territory.
