In Bonnevaux in the north of Gard, the village demonstrates for the return of sorting

On July 25, the residents of the Gard commune mobilized against the removal of containers from their commune a few days earlier.
Since the beginning of July, the Cévennes commune has been deprived of the selective sorting area previously in place at the Col de Péras, at the exit of the village. The Agglo d'Alès, manager of waste collection, made this decision due to a reminder by the Department of a 2018 decree prohibiting the circulation of trucks over 3.5 tonnes. The collection trucks used for this sorting were 26 tonnes.
In response, some of the town's residents organized a demonstration at the end of last week to demand the return of the sorting service. The closest available one is located in Aujac, about 10 km away by road.

To show them the inconsistency and nonsense of the Agglo's decision, the residents in question came with their sorting bags that the Agglo has drawn on which good practices for selective sorting are drawn. Residents hope that the official authorities will quickly find a fair solution to this problem and reinstall the containers: the same ones or a smaller size.
On the Agglo side, Christophe Rivenq, its president, had indicated at the end of July that he was exploring possible solutions: “We can look for smaller trucks, but for glass, because of the weight, it is not possible”, he added, pointing out the complexity of the situation regarding the only road to Bonnevaux, which is also too narrow, given its configuration, for other large vehicles such as those of the firefighters.
