The Egyptian Ministry of antiquities told about two phenomenal discoveries in recent times. At the end of last year near the city of Sohag was discovered the tomb of age more than two thousand years. In the funerary complex of scientists “have put” the hunters of ancient artifacts that conduct illicit excavations. Malefactors were detained, and experts began to study the funerary complex.
The tomb belonged to a high-ranking nobleman named tutu and his wife, who lived in the Ptolemaic era. It was only the mummified body of a man; the burial place of his wife is unknown. However, the head of the Supreme Council of Egypt on Affairs of antiquities Mustafa Vaziri called the tomb of one of the most interesting findings: it has retained the bright colors, and, in addition, it was ritually buried more than 50 mummies of mice, cats and birds, such as ibises, falcons and eagles. Another animal, a shrew, in ancient Egypt symbolized the glare of the Sun.
Another tomb from Saqqara, much older than her for more than 4000 years; it was built during the reign of Pharaoh Djedkare Isesi. Here in the limestone sarcophagus was the mummy of a senior official by the name of Juvi, lay many artifacts, as wall as in the case of the tomb in Sohag, sparkled with fresh paint.
The tomb is accessed by a small corridor, with frescoes of the “Royal” colors and patterns: it occurs only in cases of burial of the royalty and the close people to them. About the Pharaoh Djedkare Isesi not much is known, and the discovery of the tomb of the man of his entourage allows you to learn more about that time.
Transcript of drawings continues, but scientists have found in the southern part of the funerary complex of the image of Juvi. He was seated at table with offerings, listed on the East wall.
